Ecumen honors Eleanore Ebeling, who is 100.
Born: Jan. 13, 1915 on a farm near Brewster, Minn. (She has the cancelled check for $15 that her father used to pay the doctor who came by horse and buggy to deliver her.)
Residence: Ecumen Meadows in Worthington, Minn.
Hobbies/Interests: Eleanore has taught community education classes related to her various hobbies: quilting, sewing, oil painting and Indian seed beading. She continues to be an avid reader of large print books.
Family: Married to Alvin, now deceased, for 72 years. Three children, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.
Occupation: Farming.
Secrets of Longevity: Having lots of interests. Also she exercises daily, in organized classes and twice daily on the NuStep exercise machine.
Interesting Facts: Eleanore has made more than 50 quilts, and each of her children and grandchildren have one, and she recently donated one to Ecumen Meadows for a fundraising event. Also, she is a published recipe contributor in Country Woman magazine.
