A new program in Denver, Colorado is changing the way that their community is affected by dementia in a positive way. 'Granny Does Graffiti' is giving the community new art to enjoy, while providing a creative outlet for those with dementia. Those with dementia and caregivers are involved in the group that is exploring the world of graffiti. "We know arts can access different parts of the brain where words maybe won't," Kera Maragrill, early stage service coordinator at the Colorado Alzheimer's Association, said. "So participating in programs like this opens up memories and pathways in the brain for people to get creative, explore and engage."
